How it started
Welcome to my creative blog, log, diary …
This site started as a site for my WordPress course, first following the example site, but for your last assignment you have to create your own site, with your own content. While working on the example site I kept thinking: what was I going to fill my own site with?
Once upon a time I followed a web design course, still with Dreamweaver, where you made everything from scratch. I filled that site with travel stories and photos, but life happened, and I have not been travelling and taking photos for a long time. I do however have other creative hobbies and when I want to show someone, I always have to scramble looking for photos, on my phone, on my barely used Facebook. So why not put them together in one place for easy access, even if only for me.
Photography
First, my best travel pictures. And some photos made closer to home, I did not put on my Flickr page. If you like what I have put on here, you can visit it, if you want to see more. I will link to the album section on several places throughout this site, since I find it the best way to go by album instead of the “everything” page.
On here, I may even sneak in some silly drawings I did for my first site.
Paintings & drawing
The oldest of my hobbies is probably drawing and painting. I did a lot of that almost daily till just after high school. The education I did after, Fashion & Design, also had drawing built in, but I did less just because it’s fun drawing and painting. After I finished the education, I increasingly just drew and painted within courses and workshops. Though those courses usually do trigger to pick up a pencil or a paintbrush outside the classroom, it never seems to happen.

Now I mostly sew costumes, craft accessories or pimp a ready-made piece. Floppy wicker sunhats make a great base for a pirate hat. The thing is, the best way for me to get to do anything, even though I love it once I am working on something, is a strict ready for x festival deadline or also some structure through a class.
And so, we get to the name of the site, Creative bursts.
Because this is how I work now. High activity through a course or an upcoming deadline or nothing. Maybe this site will help as a reminder to myself, how much I like doing these things and get into action more often. I need content to fill the site after all.
